Hello from Retro-On-Sea!

http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Retro-On-Sea

As spring approaches we are getting excited about all the very JOLLY things we will be selling in the shop over the coming months!

With blankets being one of our best sellers over the winter months, we are turning our attention to lovely bits and bobs that would look good in the beach hut or campervan alike.

We have also been busy creating items for you to buy made out of vintage fabrics - mainly 1950's - 1970's.

These items will be having our 'made with love at Retro-On-Sea' label on them. We have made goodies that we think you will like, some of which are shown in the above photo - washbags, laundry bags, old-fashioned beach bags, cushions and bunting - to name a few! They are all lovely quality items that have been made with every care.

We are also starting to think about larger items that you may require for your seaside location, be it hut, hideaway or beach cafe... we have some great deck chairs, cafe chairs and even the knickerbocker glory glasses for you! Just click the link at the top of this page to have a look in the shop.

If you are thinking about taking some great time out around our beautiful coast of the British Isles this summer - you may be looking for some ideas of where to go.

This is where I come to my recommended book of the week, month or even the whole year!

'Coast Magazine 250 Weekends By The Sea' is just the ticket. It has up-to-date details of places you never knew existed, with something for everyone...clifftop walks, romantic breaks, places for pier and lighthouse lovers, dog lovers and eating by the shore, to name but a few.

Oh, and while on the subject of books...not difficult for me if they involve anything to do with the seaside, or vintage retro delights...I have to mention a couple more to slip onto the bookshelf. Lighter enjoyable reads to take you back a few decades...or to dream about what you would like in the future..

Firstly, The Little Book Of Caravans and secondly, The VW Camper Story...both dreamy books you will love!

Both books are small hardbacks and are filled with so many pictures of the most wonderful vehicles you can imagine!

I am quite HAPPY to convince myself that a 1950's caravan would be the perfect office in the garden....

I am off to, I am hoping, sunny Devon and Dorset in the next few weeks. Who knows what coastal finds I will bring back to the shop!

Keep and eye on what we have in over the coming weeks as the stock is always changing.

If you need to link with any of our sites just look us up at,

Wherever you are this week...

on the coast..or dreaming about being by the coast...

HAVE FUN!

Speak to you all soon, Ros.

  2. Hi, Love the blog. Found you via my Totnes friend's facebook (Shabby Chick). Maybe see you at my fair in Totnes on March 31st? Maybe we met in my shop (This'n'That) sometime? Have you thought of selling at Nostalgic Mix?
